Material

The silk twill fabric used is made using raw silk in both the warp and weft.

While yarns are usually twisted tightly to prevent breakage, the yarns used in this fabric are only lightly twisted to preserve the silk’s natural characteristics and sheen.

The fabric is carefully woven at a slow speed on a shuttle loom. Due to the intricate hand aligned multicolor pattern, the fabric is highly labor-intensive and crafted using the techniques mastered by a select few skilled artisans.
